more than familiar with Geoff Bacchus' rambling, intolerant views on a variety of subjects, he really excelled himself in the October edition. an informative article to highlight the work done by a local charity into a wide-ranging diatribe against those who do not conform to his worldview, particularly homosexuals; unmarried couples; and anyone who is not English, does not vote Tory and is not a Christian. His article does the charity with which it has been associated no favours and possibly considerable harm, especially as this charity has the interests of a vulnerable community at its heart. as it doesn't by rights make you a good spouse. As a parent, I am not perfect but my husband and I do our best to create an environment where our daughter is taught to be patient and loving, AND tolerant of those who are different. I would feel that I had failed as a parent if my child grew up to spout such ill-informed hatred and bitterness towards whole sections of society. appears to ally himself, as well as by the wider Olney and area community. I also question whether the Phonebox should continue to give a platform to Mr Bacchus' poisonous and divisive opinions, particularly without regularly presenting an alternative view. |
