Dear Editor
Unfortunately two weeks ago our lovely little cat
got shot in the leg by an air rifle in Lavendon and
his leg was shattered into 11 pieces so they
could not repair it, only amputate it at Willow
vets.
We have spoken to the police and the RSPCA
and they have said that as it is an isolated case
they cannot do anything about it so we want to
find out if there have been any other cats that
have been shot at in the area?
Not to mention it has cost us over £760 to get
him fixed up as he was not insured.

Are You a Full Time
or Part Time Carer?
Many people in Olney are full or part-
time carers to parents, spouses or
children. Until now the nearest support
group has been in Milton Keynes and
whilst this provides an excellent service,
sometimes carers just can't spare the
time to go that far.
A new carers' support group is starting
in Olney. It will be working alongside the
Milton Keynes Group, in fact sharing
their expertise and personnel but it will
provide a local service, easier to get to
and no time wasted in travelling.
The group will be meeting in the Olney
Centre (in room 1) on the first Thursday
of every month, starting on Thursday
3rd June. It will be meeting between
2pm and 4pm but carers can pop in at
any point in that 2 hours and stay for as
long or as short a time as they wish.
Tea, coffee and biscuit will be provided
and the whole service is free.
This gives carers a support structure;
meeting other people in the same
situation as themselves, people with the
same problems, the same concerns. It
is a chance to offer and seek advice, to
receive information, to find out how to
get expert help, to discuss entitlements
or benefits or quite simply, just to have
someone to talk to, someone who
understands.
If you are a carer and you just fancy a
chat or a break then please come and
join us at the Olney Centre June 3rd at
2 4pm.
